AFN confirms venue of Nigeria Championships as official timetable of events is released
After days of uncertainty over the venue of the Nigeria Championships, the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has finally confirmed the location, as official timetable of events has also been released.
The competition, which will serve as the selection of Team Nigeria representatives to the World Championships in Tokyo this September, will feature the country's best athletes based here and abroad, slug it out at the Yabatech Sports Complex from August 1 - 3.

The 2025 All Nigeria Athletics Championships will take place at Yaba College of Technology, Lagos from July 31st to August 3rd.

Despite the shoddy manner of preparation for the championship by the AFN, the trials looks promising to be a pulsating spectacle as some athletes will be chasing the Tokyo qualifying standard.
Some top names that have touched down already are: World Record holder Tobi Amusan, NCAA standout sprinter Kanyinsola Ajayi, Canada-based Usheoritse Itsekiri, NCAA 400m champion Samuel Ogazi, among others.
Meanwhile, the timetable of events has also been released, with Day 2 being the most anticipated as it'll feature the men's and women's 100m final.
