2025 Men's Track Athlete of the Year: Noah Lyles makes Top 5 world-class nominee list
With the conclusion of a historic 2025 athletics season, World Athletics has officially released the Top 5 nominees of the Men's Track Athlete of the Year, featuring Noah Lyles in the world-class list.
According to World Athletics, the nominations reflect some of the standout performances achieved during another memorable year for the sport, which culminated in the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo 2025.
For the voting procedure, a panel of international experts compiled the long list of nominees for each of the three main award categories, and voting will take place to determine the two finalists in each category.
The World Athletics Council’s vote will count for 50% of the result, while the World Athletics Family’s votes and social media votes will each count for 25% of the result.
Here are the Top 5 nominees for the 2025 Men's Track Athlete of the Year and their major achievements for the season.
• World 400m hurdles champion
• Two of the top three 400m hurdles performances of the year
• World 10,000m champion and 5000m bronze medallist
• Diamond League 3000m champion
