AFCON 2025: We will get the results - Iwobi assures Nigerians

Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has i assured Nigerians that the Super Eagles will get results against Tanzania.

The Nigerian squad continued their build-up on Monday, holding a training session in light rain as players and coaching staff put the finishing touches on their tactical plans for Tuesday’s Group C opener.

Speaking to Pulse Sports before the training session, Iwobi highlighted the importance of having the full squad together as preparations intensify.

He said, “We are still preparing and working hard. With the full team now together, hopefully the preparation will go well, and we will get the results we want.”

Iwobi addressed Nigeria’s friendly loss to Egypt, stressing that the result has served as a learning experience rather than a setback.

“We lost a preparation game, but we took some positives from it. There are a lot of new faces in the squad, and many players are still adapting to the system and the way the manager wants us to play,” he added.

The midfielder noted that the friendly provided valuable insights into areas that need improvement as the team continues to evolve under the current coaching setup.

The Super Eagles remain unbeaten against Tanzania, having won five and drawn three of their previous meetings.
