Speaking after the match, Chelle highlighted the midfielder’s unique vision as a rare asset for the team.“You know some players can smell the football. Iwobi has a high IQ. he sees the game before other players, and he is technically very good,” Chelle told reporters.

Despite the euphoria of the win, Chelle challenged the former Arsenal man to maintain these elite standards as the knockout stages intensify.

“The most important thing now is to do that game after game. Alex has to stay focused and be consistent,” the Malian tactician added.

The Super Eagles will now travel to Marrakech, where they are set to face the winner of the clash between DR Congo and Algeria in what promises to be a mouthwatering quarter-final on Sunday.
