This came at the grand civic reception held in Akure to celebrate the achievements of Ondo State indigenes who contributed to Nigeria’s victorious campaign at the 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
The Super Falcons clinched their 10th continental title with a 3-2 win against Morocco in the final.
Tosin Demehin gets ₦30 Million and House from Ondo State
Tosin Demehin from Ilaje Local Government Area, played a pivotal defensive role throughout the tournament.
Governor Aiyedatiwa described her as a shining example of talent, discipline, and resilience.
He said, “This is a proud moment for us. Tosin Demehin has made Ondo State proud on the continental stage.
"As a token of our appreciation, the state government is awarding her ₦30 million and a house at Sunshine Estate, Oba-Ile,” Governor Aiyedatiwa announced to a cheering audience."

The governor stated that Ondo State is awarding her ₦30 million and a house at Sunshine Estate, Oba-Ile.
The reception also recognized the efforts of two other Ondo indigenes involved in the Super Falcons’ success.
Mary Akinsola, the team’s media officer, and Mary Oduboku, the team’s secretary, were each awarded ₦15 million cash for their crucial support roles in Nigeria’s historic win.
This comes after Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma rewarded several Super Falcons stars from his state and faced criticism for doing so.
Uzodinma rewarded ₦10 million each to six players and assistant coach Ann Chiejine.
