They don't deserve it - Nigerians lament Super Eagles 1-0 win against Rwanda in World Cup qualifier
The Super Eagles of Nigeria labored to a 1-0 victory against the Amavubi of Rwanda in a matchday seven 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
The team led by Eric Chelle had a goal scored by Victor Osimhen disallowed by VAR in the first half.
Rwanda declared the qualifier against Nigeria a battle and were difficult to break down at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
It was new Wolves striker Tolu Arokodare that scored the only goal of the game in the 52nd minute.
The result means that the Super Eagles moved up to third in the Group with 10 points but are still behind Benin Republic with 11 points and the Bafana Bafana of South Africa 16 points.

Following the result, Nigerians took to social media to give their thoughts on the performance of the team.
Arokodare received praise for coming on to earn Nigeria a crucial three points in the qualification campaign.
With just two wins in seven games, Nigerians are now frustrated with the performances from the team.
They general reaction from most Nigerian football fans were that the team knowing the urgency in the group should have put up a better performance than a narrow win.
Malian coach Eric Chelle was not excused for the lackluster performance that had very little chances and only produced one goal.
