For reasons that reach well beyond the Octagon, Jamahal Hill's protracted conflict with Alex Pereira has made him a national celebrity.

At the UFC Performance Institute, Hill and Pereira's tension reached a point where they almost got into a physical altercation.

After Pereira hurled a pair of gloves at Hill, the event swiftly got out of control, attracting the attention of supporters and igniting a surge of online bullying.

Kamaru Usman recently offered his thoughts on the controversy in his YouTube show, Pound 4 Pound.

He said, “You are a former champion. Listen, you’re getting clowned online because of what you chose to do,”

“But what you’re not realizing is, yes, people may be clowning you. But guess what? They’re still talking about you.

"They’re keeping you in the mix. Your name is still connected to Alex Pereira.

"Even though people are saying you looked bad for what you did, they’re still talking about you. Your name is out there.”

This only made his feud with Pereira more well-known and kept both boxers in the public eye.
