World Athletics Awards: Mondo Duplantis named overall Male Athlete of the Year

Swedish pole vault superstar Mondo Duplantis has been named the overall Male Athlete of the Year at the 2025 World Athletics Awards.
The recognition was his second of the night, following being named the Male Field Athlete of the Year for his outstanding and dominant season, which saw him become the world indoor and outdoor champion and reset his world record four times during the course of the year.

It is also his fourth consecutive win for the prestigious award, proving his consistency and talent over the years as arguably the greatest to have ever participated in the event.
Meanwhile, Nicola Olyslagers was named the Female Field Athlete of the Year ahead of Tara Davis-Woodhall. Her 2025 season saw her become the world indoor and outdoor Champion, Diamond League champion, and set an Oceania High Jump Record of 2.04m.
