Will you marry me? NBA star Tyrese Haliburton announces engagement to longtime partner Jade Jones

NBA star Tyrese Haliburton has taken a big step in his personal life.

The 25-year-old Indiana Pacers point guard, shared the brilliant news of his engagement to longtime partner, Jade Jones, confirming the milestone with a moving carousel of photos on his Instagram account this Monday.

Haliburton chose a location deeply significant to their love story: the centre court of the Hilton Coliseum at Iowa State University.

The choice of venue was no accident. 

 It was here, as students, that their journey together first began. 

The Hilton Coliseum is where Haliburton’s star began to rise with the Iowa State Cyclones basketball team, and where Jones cheered him on from the sidelines as part of the university’s cheerleading squad. 

In the touching snaps shared with his millions of followers, Haliburton is pictured down on one knee, presenting a ring to a visibly emotional Jones.

 A large, illuminated sign behind them read, "Will you marry me?", framed by an abundance of red roses. 

Haliburton was wearing a medical boot on his right leg, a stark reminder of the Achilles injury that prematurely ended his NBA Finals campaign last month.

Haliburton’s post captured the couple's excitement, featuring images of them embracing on the court, sharing a kiss, and proudly posing by the Iowa State University sign as Jones showed off her stunning new diamond ring. 

Their love story is a favourite amongst fans.

Their relationship blossomed in 2019, long before he took the NBA by storm.

Whilst Haliburton was making a name for himself in college basketball, Jones, who is now understood to be a primary school teacher, was his steadfast supporter. 

Their bond has clearly only strengthened as Haliburton has transitioned into one of the league’s most dynamic and beloved players.

Their engagement comes nearly three months after the couple celebrated their sixth anniversary with heartfelt tributes online. 

“6 years, countless memories, and a lifetime to go,” Haliburton wrote at the time.

 “I fall for you more everyday, I got you forever.”

Jones echoed the sentiment on her own page, calling their love "one in a million" and referring to Haliburton as her "best friend forever & ever."
