‘We’re relaxed about it’ - Fulham manager urges patience on permanent deal for Chukwueze
The Nigerian international joined the Cottagers on a season-long loan that includes an option to buy.
Since his move, the Super Eagles star has had a series of impressive performances, notably his two goals against Manchester City.
Due to this, fans have been eager to see the club secure the winger's long-term future in West London.
Silva speaks on Chukwueze's permanent deal
Silva has called for calm, stating that both the club and the player are relaxed about the situation.
"A permanent deal? I don’t think it’s the right time to talk about it," Silva said, according to reports from SportMediaset and MilanPress. "We have time to make that decision. We’re relaxed about it, and so is he."
The manager emphasised that the focus remains on Chukwueze's on-field contributions. "He knows what he has to do; he knows he has to continue helping the team. At the right time, we’ll make the right decision."
Despite his cautious stance on a permanent transfer, Silva was full of praise for the 25-year-old's quality and influence at the club.
He highlighted that Chukwueze's background at a major European club like AC Milan has prepared him for the pressures of the Premier League.
"He’s mature, has quality, and is a creative player," Silva noted. "We want to see more from him, even if he doesn’t have to prove his worth every single game, because he’s an international player who comes from a big European club and knows what pressure means."
"Beyond his qualities as a player, he spreads good vibes to everyone. He’s a good guy and enjoys battling with us every single day. It’s nice to see him always smiling. Then when he has to work, he works."
