Ajayi speaks ahead of Morocco clash

Speaking after the match, he acknowledged the challenge posed by the upcoming Moroccan opponents but stressed that Nigeria must replicate their top form.

"Algeria is a top team. It wasn't easy, but we brought our A-game today, and we're definitely going to need to do that again in the next round," Ajayi said.

When asked about the difference between the current squad and the one from the previous AFCON, Ajayi highlighted a shared drive to overcome past disappointments.

"Both teams are driven. We both came with one goal, and the goal is the same," he stated. "We know how painful it was to not go all the way last time, and we're looking to make amends for that."

Despite reaching the last four, Ajayi insisted the team remains focused on the immediate task. "We still have a semi-final to deal with, and we'll be really hungry, ready, and focused to make sure we complete that mission," he added.

"Yeah, it will be hostile, but I think we have enough experience in the group to be able to deal with that," Ajayi explained.

"Today was pretty much an away game. I'd say the stadium was about 80% Algeria. So, learning how to deal with that and navigate that will stand us in good stead for the next game."

Ajayi also noted that the team is constantly seeking to refine its performance, stating, "We can always improve; no performance is perfect. There are little details that we can iron out and fix, and we'll be looking to do that on the training field."

The Super Eagles will look to book their place in the final when they take on Morocco this Wednesday, January 14.
