The Malian took over from Eguavoen, who became the interim coach and qualified the Super Eagles for the 2025 AFCON competition.
Following his appointment, he has now been unveiled by the NFF in Abuja and is expected to start immediately.
Eguavoen hugs Chelle
The former Mali international ended his contract with Algerian club MC Oran and landed in Nigeria on Sunday.
The two men met at the venue of the unveiling and hugged themselves before Chelle was presented to Nigerians.
A video posted by Adepoju Tobi Samuel, a.k.a. @OgaNlaMedia on X, showed the managers hugging each other.

The Super Eagles had been led by interim coach Augustine Eguavoen while the NFF looked for a permanent coach for the national team.
Eguavoen, who assumed the position for the fourth time in August, led Nigeria to earn a spot in the Morocco-hosted 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
However, Eguavoen will resume his duties as the head of the NFF's Technical Department after Chelle is appointed.
