I don't recognise my club anymore — Chelsea legend cries out

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has admitted that he does not recognise his former club anymore following another defeat.

The Blues lost their fourth successive game across all competitions after Real Madrid knocked them out of the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Los Blancos sealed their progress to the semifinals following a 2-0 win in the second leg at Stamford Bridge.

Samba Boy, Rodrygo was the star of the day on the night as he netted both goals to give the LaLiga giants a 4-0 aggregate victory.

The latest defeat means the Blues are on a run of four consecutive defeats in all competitions, three of which have come under interim manager Frank Lampard.

Chelsea are also struggling in the Premier League where they sit 11th on the table and in danger of missing out completely from Europe next season.

The defeat against Real saw the Blues’ journey in the 2023 Champions League come to an end, leaving a bitter taste in the mouths of fans and legends like Drogba.

Speaking after the game on Tuesday, the Ivorian cannot understand what has happened to his former club.

“I knew this club with a certain class during the (Roman) Abramovich era,” Drogba told Canalplus via Football transfers.

“But today i find it lacking, it’s very hard for me to see how they got rid of certain people,” he added.

“They should go back to the principles and values they had. I don’t recognise my club anymore.”
