TUG OF WAR!!! League winners Manchester City take legal action against Premier League

The related party restrictions, which impact businesses connected to a club's owners, are being challenged by Man City.

Following the serving of legal documents, Man City lawyers are now getting ready to square off against Premier League’s legal consultants in a legal battle 

Should they prevail in the two-week arbitration case that begins on Monday, they will want compensation from the Premier League.

Manchester City are ready to go head-to-head with the Premier League, following the Premier League rulebook, as reported by the Sun.

According to documents submitted before the hearing, Man City feels that the regulation change, which requires all related party transactions to pass the "fair market value" standard, was created to "discriminate against owners."

The Etihad Club also claims that the Premier League rulebook as a whole, which mandates that every regulation modification be approved by a two-thirds majority, should be eradicated.

This is because the regulations were initially implemented in direct response to Newcastle's 2021 takeover.

According to City, sponsors that have ties to the club owners should be free to set their own prices, regardless of an unbiased assessment.

A win for Manchester City in the lawsuit would upend the Premier League regulations as a whole and possibly cause anarchy.
