William Troost-Ekong is set to end his tenure in Saudi Arabia as he nears a move to Qatari side Al Ahli SC (Doha).

Troost-Ekong has been a pillar for Saudi Pro League side Al Kholood since joining in August 2024.
His immediate impact and natural leadership saw him rise to the position of club captain, where he played a crucial role in securing the club's top-flight survival last season.
However, despite his individual efforts, Al Kholood has endured a nightmare run in 2026, losing eight of their last nine matches to leave them hovering just three points above the drop zone.
Troost-Ekong’s move to Al Ahli comes as the "Brigadiers" look to shore up a defense that has struggled for consistency this term.
Al Ahli, currently sitting 9th in the 12-team QSL table, have picked up 15 points from 13 games and are eager to climb away from the relegation dogfight to challenge traditional giants like Al Sadd and Al Duhail.
The transfer will see Troost-Ekong link up with another high-profile veteran in Julian Draxler.
The 2014 World Cup winner, who recently extended his own contract in Doha until 2028, has been the creative heartbeat of the side since arriving from PSG.
