Former Manchester City and Liverpool star Raheem Sterling is looking to revive his career after his contract at Chelsea was terminated.

The former England international, who joined from Manchester City in a £50 million deal, struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge and had not featured in a competitive game since May 2024.

Sterling was sidelined by former manager Enzo Maresca, and new boss Liam Rosenior opted not to reintegrate him into the squad. He spent the previous season on loan at Arsenal but found opportunities limited, scoring just once in 28 appearances, primarily as a substitute.

Now a free agent, Sterling is reportedly open to staying in the Premier League or exploring options abroad, with a preference for remaining in London. Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara has suggested that Spurs could be an interesting destination for the winger.

"I would have him at Tottenham," O’Hara stated on talkSPORT.

"I would absolutely take Sterling at Tottenham. I think he’s a good player. He’s better than what we’ve got. I’d sign him on a contract to the end of the season if he was willing to do that."

O'Hara acknowledged that Sterling might receive lucrative long-term offers from places like Saudi Arabia, but believes the player still has the drive to compete at the top level.

"If the candle is still lit and he wants to still be a Premier League football player, I would give him an opportunity at Tottenham," he added.

"He’s been training on his ow,n and he’s had his contract paid up... for me, he’s got the desire to play. Spurs need a left winger."
