Manchester United have submitted an improved bid exceeding £60 million for Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo.
The new offer follows a rejected bid of £45 million plus up to £10 million in add-ons earlier this month.
Talks concerning the Cameroon international, who would become United's second summer signing after Matheus Cunha, are expected to continue this week.
Man Utd’s Mbeumo tug-of-war
As reported by BBC Sport, the Red Devils are keen to bolster Ruben Amorim's squad before pre-season training commences on July 7.
Mbeumo's Premier League experience is considered a significant advantage, as Amorim aims for a stronger start to the season compared to previous campaigns.
The report suggests that Brentford are looking for a fee at least equivalent to what Wolves received for Cunha, given Mbeumo still has a year remaining on his contract.
Former Brentford manager Thomas Frank, now at Tottenham, had also expressed interest in being reunited with Mbeumo.
The in-demand Brentford man achieved a career-best 20 goals for the Bees last term and also contributed nine assists.
What’s next for Man Utd?
Man Utd, who face Arsenal in round one of the 2025-26 Premier League campaign, hope to finalise more incomings by the start of pre-season in July.
