Transfer News: Arsenal to hijack Chelsea's #89bn move for young forward

Arsenal are reportedly planning to submit an offer for Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens, aiming to bring him to the Emirates Stadium. 

The 2024-25 season ultimately concluded with disappointment for the Gunners, as Mikel Arteta's side fell short in the Premier League title race. 

Despite reaching the Champions League semi-finals, the North London outfit exited the competition against eventual champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Arsenal are determined to rebound, with Arteta and Sporting Director Andrea Berta actively working to make quality additions to their squad.

Securing a top striker remains the London club’s primary objective, while reported interest in Real Madrid's Rodrygo underlines Arteta's desire for a new wide player. 

According to TEAMtalk, Gittens is a player Arsenal are keen on signing, with plans to prepare a proposal around €50 million (£42.5 million). 

However, reports indicate that while Arsenal are making their move, the 20-year-old England Under-21 international winger actually prefers a transfer to Chelsea.

Dortmund reportedly value the player at more than Arsenal's proposed offer, with figures around €60 million to €65 million previously cited.

Arsenal hope to finalise more extensions and incomings before the start of pre-season in July.
