Tottenham have been trying for weeks to come to some sort of agreement for Brentford goalkeeper David Raya but have failed to do so, largely due to a reluctance to come anywhere close to the required figure.
Brentford have stood firm in their asking price of £40m and now Spurs have looked elsewhere, specifically to Serie A.
Tottenham to sign Vicario
According to 90min, Empoli asked for a fee of €20m to part ways with their goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario. and Daniel Levy the Tottenham chairman is satisfied with a deal at that price.
Vicario joined Empoli on a permanent deal last summer and kept 7 clean sheets in 31 Serie A appearances.
Several PL sides have been monitoring the 26-year-old but he is now set to move to Tottenham and will likely replace the 36-year-old Hugo Lloris who has been vocal about his desire for a new challenge.
