'That's my goal' - Man City's new signing Cherki aims to win the Ballon d'Or award
Manchester City recently completed the signing of France international Cherki from Lyon for a fee of €36.5 million.
The young Frenchman, who made the leap from Lyon, is considered Kevin De Bruyne's successor and dreams of making his mark on the team, including winning the Ballon d'Or.
What Cherki said in his first interview
Rayan Cherki exuded confidence and ambition in his first interview as a Manchester City player, as reported by Sportal.
"I haven't forgotten Lyon's Europa League elimination by Manchester United. I'm looking forward to the Manchester derby to get my revenge," Cherki declared, demonstrating his passion for his new club.
"City was my only choice. My conversation with Pep Guardiola convinced me that I'd find the ideal environment here to develop.
"Rodri won the Ballon d'Or as a City player, so I can too. That's my goal," added a confident Cherki.
