The baby boy has been named Miquel, in honor of Nadal's late father-in-law.

Rafael Nadal's family grew on Thursday, August 7th, with the birth of his second son.

Maria Perello gave birth at the Quironsalud Palmaplans Hospital in Palma de Mallorca.

Both mother and baby Miquel were discharged two days later.

According to Marca, the newborn's name holds significant meaning for the Spanish family.

Miquel was the name of Mery's father, who passed away in April 2023 at the age of 63 after a period of illness.

Rafael Nadal and Mery Perello have been a couple for almost 20 years, since the athlete was 19.

They married on October 19, 2019, in a ceremony also held on the Mediterranean island of Mallorca.

The couple's first son, Rafael, was born on October 8, 2022, while Miquel was born on August 7, 2025, at the same hospital in Palma de Mallorca.

Two years and two days after the birth of his first son, on October 10, 2024, Rafael Nadal announced his retirement after a career spanning three decades.

The Spaniard's last match took place on November 19th in Malaga, in the Davis Cup quarterfinals last year.
