The 24-year-old striker, who provided an assist in the Bundesliga clash, was reportedly stopped by officers while driving home from the match, an encounter that later turned out to be a harmless misunderstanding.

Post-Match Police Encounter

Boniface, who has been a consistent performer for Bremen this season, was seen in a short exchange with a female police officer in a video shared by fans outside the Weserstadion.

According to German outlet DeichStube, the situation was “nothing serious.” The report clarified that the Super Eagles forward had mistakenly taken a wrong turn on his way out of the stadium and was redirected by police before being allowed to continue his journey.

Club sources also confirmed that the Nigerian striker was neither detained nor fined, and the issue was resolved within minutes.

While Boniface remains a key part of Werder Bremen’s offensive setup, he is yet to find the back of the net this season.

His last competitive goal came in March 2025, during his time at Bayer Leverkusen, before his summer move to Bremen.

The Nigerian striker has expressed a strong desire to regain his scoring touch, and with the international break approaching, he now has two weeks to rest and rebuild confidence before club football resumes.
