His comment has led to a lot of reaction from fans and pundits, who have had their say on the issue at hand.

Slot speaks on Salah

Speaking on Amazon Prime, Slot responded to pundit Clarence Seedorf's view on the situation. "You say everyone makes mistakes in life, so the first thing should be: does the player think he's made a mistake as well?" Slot remarked.

"And then the next question is, should the initiative come from me or him? That's another question to answer."

However, the Liverpool boss later appeared to soften his stance, delivering a more ambiguous message. "Clarence said that in his opinion, and I didn't say who should make the first step," Slot clarified.

"Tonight it should be all about the players that are here. In the rich history Liverpool has had, they have had many of these evenings."

The comments came after Liverpool secured a vital away win at the San Siro, with Dominik Szoboszlai stepping up to score an 88th-minute penalty, filling the void left by Salah. The victory propels the Reds into the top eight.
