We are not focused on Salah — Liverpool captain Van Dijk pleased with Inter win
Van Dijk's comments came in the aftermath of Liverpool's 1-0 win over Inter Milan at the San Siro.
Mohamed Salah, considered one of Liverpool’s greatest players, was removed from the team by manager Arne Slot following an explosive interview on Saturday.
In the interview, Salah had complained about his treatment at the club and stated that his relationship with the Anfield boss had broken down, making his future uncertain.
Van Dijk speaks on Salah situation after Inter win
Addressing the situation after the win over Inter Milan, Van Dijk told reporters:
“It’s difficult, but it’s a collective difficult situation that we’re all in. Between Mo and the club, things are happening, and he’s not here today; that’s the reality.
"I don’t think anything has changed in terms of our focus and determination.”
Van Dijk stressed the importance of maintaining momentum during a difficult period for the club:

“It’s a good feeling of winning. Especially in a period we are in, trying to find consistency and something to build on. It doesn’t change anything. There’s obviously so much noise from the outside world, which is normal when you don’t perform.”
Liverpool are due to face Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday, and there is no confirmation that Salah will be involved in what could be his last game in a Reds jersey.
The 33-year-old is expected to link up with his Egyptian teammates at AFCON 2O25 just two days after the clash against Brighton.
