Coming off the bench with Fulham trailing against a stubborn Brighton side, the AC Milan loanee Samuel Chukwueze needed only 13 minutes to remind the Premier League why he is one of Africa’s most dangerous wingers.

His 72nd-minute equaliser sparked a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory, leaving fans scrambling for adjectives to describe his "Chukwu Magic."

‘God of Magic’ - Nigerians react to the spark

Fulham’s social media team was the first to coin the phrase “Chukwu magic,” but Nigerian fans took it a step further in the comments.

“Chukwu magic simply means God of Magic,” one fan explained, while others were so impressed they demanded a long-term commitment: “Give him a 5-year contract already!”

However, not everyone was impressed. One skeptical supporter joked about the winger’s consistency, remarking, “He can’t do this in Nigeria,” referring to the winger’s form in the Super Eagles.

Others noted a dip in the "hype" around him, with one user observing, “Did you see the amount of likes? Nigerians don't care for him that much anymore. All the best though.”

It wasn't just the fans who were impressed. Legendary pundit Paul Merson, speaking on Sky Sports, was left stunned by the technical quality of the goal.

“What a finish it is! Thierry Henry-style, but on his left-hand side,” Merson exclaimed. “It’s a great ball to him. Brilliant.”

The goal was a masterclass in directness. Chukwueze latched onto a monstrous 50-yard pass from Joachim Andersen, killed the ball with a perfect touch, and arrowed a finish into the bottom corner that gave the keeper no chance.

Chukwueze’s impact at Fulham has been undeniable since his loan move from Italy. His equaliser against Brighton marked his third goal of the season, to go along with three assists in his last six appearances.

His first appearance since the AFCON 2025 bronze medal win came after he was subbed on in the 59th minute; and he scored in the 72nd.

Fulham moved up to 7th in the Premier League table with 34 points.

The victory ends a rocky patch for Fulham and sets them up perfectly for a massive clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford next.

If Chukwueze continues to channel his inner "God of Magic," Marco Silva’s side might just be the dark horses for a European spot.
