Cristiano Ronaldo's contract with Al Nassr is expiring and he has yet to renew his deal, with his future still uncertain
The Portuguese legend has not enjoyed his stay with Al Nassr, having won only one trophy since joining the club.
On Thursday, Fernando Hierro, the Saudi club's sporting director, addressed the Portuguese captain's situation.
"The directors are doing an extraordinary job... Cristiano is currently focused on his national team. His contract runs until June 30th.
"The club will continue to work, and I hope both parties reach an agreement. A lot of work is being done for him to stay with us," Hierro commented.
Al Nassr wants Diaz
According to talkSPORT, Al Nassr is already considering alternatives, with former FC Porto player Luis DÃaz their preferred target.
The Saudi club is reportedly prepared to spend €85 million to acquire the Liverpool forward, with Ronaldo possibly leaving this summer.
News of Al Nassr's interest in DÃaz has reverberated in Catalonia, as he is a player on Barcelona's radar.
While the Colombian international would command a higher salary in Saudi Arabia, a move to Barcelona would keep him in Europe's elite leagues.
The 28-year-old DÃaz has been with Liverpool since 2022. This season, he scored 17 goals and provided five assists in 50 appearances for the Reds.
