Report: 3-time Champions League winners agree deal with Lookman despite Atletico links
Serie A giants Inter Milan have taken a major step forward in their pursuit of Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman, reaching a personal agreement with the Atalanta star despite growing interest from Atletico Madrid.
The Nerazzurri, fresh off a squad reshuffle, are now focused on striking a final deal with Atalanta to secure one of Serie A’s most explosive attackers.

Inter agree terms with Lookman but face €50m Atalanta hurdle
According to Corriere dello Sport and Sky Sport Italia, Inter Milan have prioritised Lookman as their top summer attacking target after parting ways with Joaquin Correa and Marko Arnautovic.
The 27-year-old, who is the reigning African Player of the Year, has reportedly reached an informal agreement with Inter on personal terms.
However, the club must still convince Atalanta to lower their €50 million asking price. Inter are prepared to table an offer worth €40 million, fully paid up front, which could be enough to start serious negotiations.
Encouragingly for the Nerazzurri, this fee can be paid without needing to offload any key first-team players. While Lookman is eager for the move, his future remains in limbo until the two Italian clubs reach a consensus.
Atletico Madrid intensify pursuit but Inter remain confident
Despite Inter’s progress, they are not alone in the race. Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are also pushing hard to bring Lookman to LaLiga.
Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the Colchoneros have held direct talks with Lookman in recent days, undeterred by their ongoing negotiations for Thiago Almada.
Still, Inter’s current advantage lies in the agreement already in place with the player. The coming days could prove decisive, as Inter look to fend off late competition and finalise a deal that would bolster their attack heading into the 2025–26 season.
