Franco Morbidelli will miss this weekend's Czech Grand Prix due to the shoulder injury he sustained in a crash during the sprint race at the Sachsenring in Germany last Saturday.
The Italian rider crashed at high speed in turn eight of the German track and subsequently missed Sunday's main race in Saxony.
His VR46 Ducati team had hoped the slightly longer break before the Czech round would allow Morbidelli to recover, but that hasn't been the case.
Morbidelli will now miss the upcoming weekend in Brno, with his aim being to return to the grid after the summer break, which concludes in mid-August with the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring.
