PSG are most people's favourites to win the trophy this season, and they have picked up from where they left off last campaign, with a 100% record in the tournament's league phase.

Bayern Munich are also in incredible form coming into this one, winning every single game they have played this season, and looking like real contenders for the trophy, especially with the form of star striker Harry Kane.

PSG needed a 94th-minute winner to beat Nice at the weekend, but their 1-0 victory kept them top of Ligue 1 as they pursue a fifth successive league title.

Saturday’s win stretched the Parisians’ unbeaten run to eight games in all competitions (W5, D3), a run that includes the 7-2 thumping of Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen on matchday 3.

Bayern were also comfortable winners over Leverkusen at the weekend, winning 3-0 to stretch their remarkable Bundesliga start to nine wins from nine games.

They have been unstoppable in Europe as well, and have already dispatched Chelsea, Pafos, and Club Brugge by 2+ goal margins. Despite their incredible start to the season, manager Vincent Kompany will be fully aware that this is their toughest test yet.

This fixture has been largely one-sided in recent times, with Bayern winning the last four UCL H2Hs without conceding a single goal.

However, PSG were victorious the last time these sides met in the summer’s FIFA Club World Cup.

PSG will have to cope without forward Desire Doue, who is carrying a knock, and the suspended Zabarnyi.

Meanwhile, Bayern are close to full strength, with Jamal Musiala expected to play some minutes after training all week. Harry Kane is also expected to start after coming off the bench in the win against Leverkusen.
