PSG's Interest in Karim Benzema
Despite the reported interest, it appears that PSG's sporting advisor, Luis Campos is not keen on the idea of bringing Benzema to the club.
The main focus for PSG, under Campos’ guidance, has been on strengthening the defensive and midfield areas of the team, as per PSG Talks
Benzema's Current Situation in Saudi Arabia
Since joining Al-Ittihad in July 2023, Benzema has had a noteworthy performance in the Saudi Pro League, scoring nine goals and assisting five in his 15 appearances. However, his relationship with the club's supporters has been turbulent, marked by a unique nickname "Kitty" given by the fans and media to criticise the former Real Madrid man.
Benzema's current contract with Al-Ittihad runs until June 2026, and he reportedly earns an annual salary of approximately 200 million euros. This hefty salary poses a significant challenge for any potential move back to Europe, as per reports from Sports Manor
Benzema’s uncertain future
While the prospect of Benzema returning to France or Europe has been the subject of speculation, the financial and contractual complexities with Al-Ittihad, along with PSG’s current priorities, make such a move unlikely at this point.
