Juventus have been advised to sign a top-level striker to improve their chances of challenging for the Scudetto.

Despite being in contention for a Champions League spot, Juventus have struggled to find a consistent cutting edge this season.

After 16 league matches, the Bianconeri are fifth in Serie A, four points adrift of leaders Inter Milan, having scored 23 goals.

A closer look reveals that only ten of those goals have come from open play, with the rest originating from penalties and set-piece situations.

Juventus legend touts move for Osimhen

Mauro, who enjoyed a trophy-laden spell with the club, believes these statistics point to a fundamental problem: the lack of a dominant forward who can single-handedly carry the team. In his view, Osimhen embodies the qualities Juventus desperately needs.

"They need a Napoli-style Osimhen, a driving force who could carry the attack on his own and whom Luciano Spalletti turned into a true leader," Mauro stated, as reported by Football-Italia.

"Juve are full of solid, above-average players, but they need someone who makes a difference."

Juventus had shown interest in Osimhen during the summer, but his former club Napoli was unwilling to sell to a direct rival. The Italian champions eventually sanctioned a record-breaking transfer to Galatasaray, which included a clause preventing the striker from joining Juventus for the next two years.

This means a potential move to Turin is off the table until at least the summer of 2027.

Osimhen's stock continues to rise across Europe. The Nigerian international is enjoying a prolific season with Galatasaray, and is intent on leading the Super Eagles to glory at AFCON 2025.
