Nigeria's Umar Sadiq turns most wanted man in Spain
Spanish LaLiga side Real Sociedad could be set to part ways with their Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq this summer.
According to reports, at least four Spanish clubs - Getafe, Sevilla, Valencia and Rayo Vallecano - have submitted offers to Real Sociedad in a bid to sign the 27-year-old forward.
Nigerian ace Umar Sadiq set for Real Sociedad exit
Sadiq, who arrived at the Anoeta Stadium two seasons ago from Almeria, has struggled to establish himself as a regular in La Real's starting XI, managing just four goals in 39 appearances.
The former AFCON star is now determined to leave the club in search of more regular playing time, and it appears his wish could be granted in the upcoming transfer window.
Spanish news outlet Que has reported that "there are already 4 offers for Umar Sadiq in Real Sociedad's offices", indicating the Nigerian is very much in demand.
Real Sociedad are said to be open to the idea of letting Sadiq, who missed out on LaLiga's African award, leave, with the player himself aware that a change of scenery could be the best option for all parties involved.
"Umar Sadiq has been making the gesture of a change of scenery for some time, and Real Sociedad have known it for a long time," the report states.
"The player wants to reset to start the 2024/2025 season with renewed energy and in the Anoeta offices they agree that this is the best option for all parties involved."
With a contract until 2028 and a staggering 100 million euro release clause, Real Sociedad hold all the cards when it comes to Sadiq's future.
However, it appears they are willing to cash in on the Nigerian, who became their most expensive signing ever when he joined from Almeria for 20 million euros, plus up to 5 million in bonuses.
The four Spanish clubs interested in Sadiq's services are all eager to secure his signature, and it remains to be seen which destination the powerful forward will choose as he looks to reignite his career.
