Timber under the microscope as Fenerbahce weigh their options

Timber, 24, is in the final year of his deal with Feyenoord and has yet to agree on an extension, sparking interest from clubs across Europe.

According to TransferFeed, Mourinho’s side will consider opening formal transfer talks if they overcome Feyenoord in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.

The Istanbul club fell 2-1 in the first leg in Rotterdam, increasing the pressure to find midfield reinforcements after fans voiced frustration over recent performances from Fred and Sebastian Szymanski.

Timber started in that match, setting up Feyenoord’s opener before being substituted in the 62nd minute.

Over three seasons, he has clocked 102 appearances, with 18 goals and 12 assists, earning a call-up to the Netherlands national team.

While Timber remains a potential target, Fenerbahce have already sealed the signing of 23-year-old Croatian midfielder Niko Jankovic from HNK Rijeka.

Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu reports the €5.6 million deal includes a 10% sell-on clause for Rijeka.

Jankovic has signed a four-year contract but will be loaned out immediately as part of the club’s long-term planning.

Meanwhile, Mourinho’s squad could get another boost with Brazilian playmaker Evander from FC Cincinnati. Foot Mercato claims Fenerbahce are readying an official bid for the 2025 MLS star, who scored 19 goals and delivered 10 assists in just 29 appearances last season.
