Mohammed Bajaber: Fresh Setback for Harambee Stars Forward in Tanzania
Harambee Stars forward Mohammed Bajaber’s hope of nailing down a place at Tanzanian giants Simba has suffered a setback.
Bajaber linked up with Simba last July but had to wait until December to make his debut, having been signed while nursing an injury, which he picked when he was still playing for Kenyan champions Kenya Police.
The former Nairobi City Stars player had to endure frustration, watching his new teammates train and then play while he was not able to contribute, and when he was finally handed his debut, it was a memorable one.
Bajaber scored with his first touch, having come on as a late substitute in Simba’s 3-0 win over Mbeya City on December 12, and it was hoped that that would be the start of consistent run in the team.
Bajaber Suffers Another Injury
He would drop to the bench for the next two matches before the league took a break and when it resumed on Sunday, Bajaber was handed his first start by new Simba coach Steve Barker but he lasted just 12 minutes.
This is after he picked up a thigh injury which now leaves him facing another spell on the sidelines, something that has left Simba fans frustrated.
Simba are yet to give an update over the nature of Bajaber’s injury but the playmaker will be hoping that it is not as bad as his first setback so that he can return to action soon before his new club and its supporters, known to be impatient, start losing faith in him.
