Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi is edging closer to a reunion with the national team setup despite the turmoil surrounding his assault by OGC Nice supporters.

The Nigerian forward is now reportedly eager for an exit from the club which has sparked transfer interest from Ligue 1 rivals.

Moffi considers Nice exit after assault by fans

Terem Moffi’s situation at Nice took a dramatic turn after he and teammate Jérémie Boga were violently attacked by the club’s supporters in the midst of a six-game winless run.

The pair were reportedly beaten and spat on at the club’s training ground, forcing them to receive hospital treatment and days off to recover.

Nice later condemned the attack in an official statement, but the damage appears to have been done, with reports claiming the striker is now assessing potential escape routes.

Paris FC, home to Moses Simon, and Nantes, where Chidozie Awaziem plies his trade, have emerged as possible destinations as both clubs seek reinforcements to secure their Ligue 1 status.

However, a permanent transfer remains unlikely given Moffi’s €15 million valuation and the expectation that Nice would demand even more.

Loan move possible as Super Eagles camp awaits his return

Despite his struggles for form since coming back from an ACL injury earlier this year, Moffi remains a respected and experienced figure in Ligue 1 after five seasons in the French top flight.

While a full transfer in the winter window seems improbable due to financial constraints, a loan deal is viewed as a realistic option, especially if Moffi continues to feel unsafe or unwelcome at Nice.

If a transfer to either Paris FC or Nantes materialises, Moffi could team up with one of his Super Eagles teammates, a move that would likely happen after the 2025 AFCON where Moffi remains part of Eric Chelle’s plans after being named to the preliminary 54-man squad for the tournament.
