OGC Nice have been plunged into crisis after a shocking ambush on the team bus sparked unrest among players and staff.

Now, Terem Moffi, Jérémie Boga, and even head coach Franck Haise are all edging toward the exit as the fallout deepens.

The situation at OGC Nice has spiralled into chaos following Sunday night’s disturbing scenes at the club’s training ground.

Terem Moffi and Jérémie Boga were singled out as the main targets: Moffi for being spotted laughing with Lorient president Loïc Fery on Ligue 1 Plus after the loss, and Boga for inviting Marseille fans to the Allianz Riviera the previous weekend, an act for which he later apologised.

According to RMC Sport, both players have now gone on sick leave, with Moffi ruled out until Sunday and Boga for five days. Crucially, neither intends to play for the club again and the pair are “actively looking to leave”, while L’Équipe say both men have filed legal complaints against the perpetrators.

The LFP condemned the incident in a firm statement, describing the actions as “totally unacceptable assaults” and confirming they will join the players’ legal cases as a civil party. Nice themselves labelled the attacks as “unacceptable behaviour”.

Franck Haise now leaning toward resignation

The fallout has not been limited to the players. Head coach Franck Haise, who admitted last week that he had offered to act as an “electroshock” after the 5–1 defeat to Marseille, is also considering stepping down.

At the time, he insisted he did not formally resign due to financial implications, having only just signed an extension running until 2029. But the situation has dramatically changed.

Multiple reports from L’Équipe, Foot Mercato, and RMC Sport now suggest that Haise is seriously contemplating walking away, with RMC Sport even stating he has expressed a willingness to resign “without compensation”.

When he stepped off the bus after the ambush, Haise initially misread the situation, believing the supporters’ reaction was directed at players rather than him. But with the violence confirmed and tensions rising across the club, his stance has shifted.

Sporting director Florian Maurice, who was also targeted by fans, is said to be deeply shaken too. Decisions now rest with club president Fabrice Bocquet and INEOS Sport CEO Jean-Claude Blanc, who must evaluate both the coach’s future and the overall safety of the team amid growing instability.
