Michy Batshuayi uses karate skills to fend off angry fans following breakout fight in Fenerbahce's triumph

Former Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi found himself embroiled in the incident as fan violence once again cast a shadow over Turkish football.

Fenerbahce secured a 3-2 victory over Trabzonspor, with Batshuayi netting the winner in the 87th minute. 

Fenerbahce’s celebratory moment was disrupted as Trabzonspor supporters breached security and approached the Fenerbahce players, prompting chaotic scenes.

Batshuayi, now donning the Fenerbahce jersey, was captured on camera amidst the chaos, attempting to fend off a spectator who approached him as the match concluded. 

A video shared on X showed Batshuayi trying to defend himself with a fly-kick as he saw a fan running towards him.

Despite the former Chelsea player’s attempt to fend off the approaching individual, the chaos persisted as stewards chased the intruders further adding to the mayhem witnessed on the field.

This is not an isolated incident in Turkish football, as previous matches have been marred by similar incidents, highlighting the broader issue at hand.

Earlier in the season, Turkish football witnessed another shocking event when a referee was physically assaulted by the president of Ankaragucu, further staining the reputation of the sport in the country.

Despite the win, the focus remains on the alarming incidents that transpired during the match, reflecting on the gravity of the situation.
