For the first time in his career, Tommy Paul has qualified for a Grand Slam quarterfinal after defeating Roberto Bautista Agut 6-2 4-6 6-2 7-5 in their fourth-round match.

The American, after winning the first set 6-2 allowed Agut to come back in the game in the second set, taking it 4-6. He won the third set convincingly for two sets to one lead and then sealed it in the fourth 7-5.

Paul will play his countryman Ben Shelton, who is one of the revelations of the tournament.
