Marcus Rashford to Liverpool? Premier League champions consider shock move for Man United forward
Liverpool are reportedly considering a stunning move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, as the reigning Premier League champions explore alternatives in a busy summer window.
According to a Daily Mail report cited in Sky Sports, Rashford who spent last season on loan at Aston Villa is among Liverpool’s striker targets this summer.
Liverpool’s primary pursuit remains Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, but uncertainty over that deal has prompted the Reds to consider Rashford.
Liverpool have also made inquiries about Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, Brentford's Yoane Wissa, Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, and Real Madrid’s Rodrygo.
Rashford’s current situation at Manchester United
At 27 years of age, Rashford previously extended his contract with United until 2028, earning £325,000 per week.
Despite high wages and stellar potential, he was frozen out by manager Ruben Amorim and spent the latter half of 2024–25 on loan at Aston Villa. His brief return to United’s first-team plans remains uncertain.
Such a transfer would break 61 years of history of no player has moved straight from Manchester United to Liverpool since Phil Chisnall in 1964.
