Manchester United’s Sancho banished to train alone after altercation with Ten Hag
Manchester United have revealed that English winger Jadon Sancho will train alone until further notice after his public spat with manager Erik Ten Hag.
Sancho and Ten Hag confrontation
Sancho has been in and out of the Manchester United squad this season, and after being left out of the team that lost to Arsenal just before the international break, Ten Hag was asked why the England international was absent from the squad.
The Manchester United manager replied, stating plainly that he had not been impressed by Sancho’s level during the week’s training.
Sancho responded to his manager’s criticisms with a strong statement on social media, denying the claims about his training level being below par, and stating that he would no longer be a scapegoat for the Red Devils’ poor performances.
Sancho banished from first-team training
In the aftermath of Sancho’s statement, there have been doubts over the winger’s future as the comments on social media were branded disrespectful to Ten Hag and out of line in the context of team ethics.
With club football set to resume after the international break, Manchester United have now confirmed that Sancho will train in seclusion from the rest of the squad indefinitely in what they have labelled a “Squad disciplinary issue.”

Manchester United released a statement to that effect, which read: “Jadon Sancho will remain on a personal training program, away from the first-team group, pending resolution of a squad discipline issue.”
Following the effective suspension, Sacho’s future at Manchester United is cast in further doubt and the former Borussia Dortmund man could be forced into a January move from Old Trafford to salvage the situation.
