Man Utd reject Mason Greenwood to speak with Thomas Tuchel over England call-up
The England international has been away from the national team for several years after his alleged assault on his partner.
The former Manchester United winger who recently joined Marseille this summer faced a lot of difficulties for club and country despite having his charges dropped.
However, he is looking forward to getting a chance back to the England team with a new head coach now in charge.
Greenwood to have a sit down with Tuchel
Greenwood is looking to return to the England national team after being frozen out by other head coaches.
According to the Sun, “Mason knows his chances of playing for England again are very slim. But he wants to check with the FA and Tuchel now he has been appointed, to see what they think.
“He is determined to play at the highest level and that means the World Cup. So if England don’t want him, he’ll switch to Jamaica and try and get to the 2026 World Cup that way.”
Tuchel signed to an 18-month contract to take over from Gareth Southgate as the Three Lions manager.
Greenwood feels a change of leadership will allow him to add to his one senior cap, even though the German won't take over as manager until January 1.
However, he will accept Steve McClaren's offer to play for Jamaica and change allegiance if he is unable to get back to the England national team.
