Manchester City were desperate for a win after suffering back-to-back defeats across all competitions, and they had to do it the hard way.
City started with intent, taking the lead in under a minute when Phil Foden fired home Matheus Nunes' cross. Joško Gvardiol doubled the advantage in the 25th minute, netting on the rebound after a Foden corner, giving City a comfortable 2-0 half-time lead.

However, Leeds boss Daniel Farke’s tactical shift proved immediately effective. Substitute Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored just four minutes after the restart, firing low inside the post.
The comeback was completed at the three-quarter mark when Gvardiol fouled Calvert-Lewin for a penalty. Lukas Nmecha saw his initial effort saved, but slotted the rebound past Gianluigi Donnarumma to level the scores.
With the possibility of ending City's 25-game unbeaten run against newly-promoted sides, Leeds fought hard.
But in a true 'get out of jail' moment, Foden struck again in the first minute of added time, firing in from the edge of the box via Rayan Cherki’s pass to secure the 3-2 victory.
City are now four points behind Arsenal, who face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
