The warring neighbours are set to renew their rivalry in the last eight of the Spanish Cup after scaling through the round of 16 ties.
Real Madrid came back from the dead against Villarreal in the round of 16, after goals from Vinicius Junior, Eder Militao, and Dani Ceballos helped them overturn a 2-0 first-half deficit.
Atletico Madrid had a more straightforward fixture in the round of 16, beating Levante 2-0 at the Ciudad de Valencia to advance to the quarterfinals.
Real Madrid and Atletico have not met in the Copa del Rey since 2015, when Atletico knocked Real out at the round of 16 stage, beating them 4-2 on aggregate.
