The last time the Reds recorded any win was their last game in this competition, and they will hope to deliver another win in front of their fans.

Liverpool have suffered back-to-back 3-0 defeats, first against Manchester City before the break, and at home against Nottingham Forest on Saturday. It is the first time since 1965 that the Reds have experienced consecutive defeats in the league by a margin of three or more goals.

Both sides have met seven times, and last season’s victory was PSV’s only triumph, with Liverpool winning five and one game ending in a draw.

Liverpool have a couple of players out, with Giovanni Leoni, Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley sidelined with injuries. Florian Wirtz missed the loss to Forest, but he should be back for this.

Dominik Szoboszlai is likely to continue at right back, while Hugo Ekitike will hope to add to his team-leading six goals across all competitions.

Meanwhile, PSV have just Alassane Plea and Ruben van Bommel sidelined.
