Liverpool postponed the start of pre-season training
Liverpool officially announced that fans will have an additional 48 hours to sign the condolence book for Diogo Jota, who tragically passed away alongside his brother, Andre Silva, in a car accident in Spain on Thursday morning.
The club has also postponed the start of pre-season training to allow players more time to grieve Jota's passing, as reported by GSP.
One day after the funeral, Liverpool decided to delay the start of pre-season training until July 8th, giving players and staff more time to cope with Jota's death. Fans will have two additional days, Monday and Tuesday, to sign the condolence book at Anfield.
The Reds had five friendly matches scheduled against Preston North End, AC Milan, Yokohoma F. Marinos, and two against Athletic Bilbao.
The first match is scheduled for July 13th, but it may be canceled. Club officials will meet with the players on the first day of training, and a final decision will be made after consulting with the squad, according to the Liverpool Echo.
