Liverpool make late move with official bid for Crystal Palace star Guéhi

The Reds have been in the market for a defender this summer have have identified Guéhi as a perfect fit for Arne Slot.

The Eagles are still weighing whether to sell the defender now or keep him, given his contract expires next summer and he has indicated he will leave on a free transfer.

The player himself is keen on a move to Anfield, but will not cause issues if he is required to remain at Selhurst Park.

According to Sportal, Liverpool have presented a £35 million offer without an add-on to Crystal Palace, which was rejected and are demanding £40 million for the England defender.

Palace are reluctant to part with Guéhi without securing a replacement. The club is in talks to sign 19-year-old Jadel Katongo from Toulouse, but he is seen as a prospect for the future.

Eagles manager Oliver Glasner has been firm in his desire for Guéhi to stay for the season, despite his contract situation.

During discussions with Liverpool, Crystal Palace expressed interest in Joe Gomez. However, the Merseyside club has rejected any loan proposals.

The Reds have no intention of letting Gomez go, despite previous interest from AC Milan and Tottenham.
