With the influential right-back confirming his departure at the end of his contract, the Reds are already eyeing potential replacements, one of whom is reportedly more than open to an Anfield move.

The Dutch international, currently starring for Bayer Leverkusen, is believed to have a release clause in the region of €35 million, making him a financially viable target for Liverpool in the upcoming transfer window.

Ornstein noted that Frimpong is "eager to join the Merseyside club" if the Reds choose to make a move, providing a rare opportunity for Liverpool to sign a proven, high-energy right-back who’s already excelling in a top European league.

Frimpong has been a standout figure under Xabi Alonso this season, racking up 46 appearances across all competitions and contributing with 4 goals and 9 assists, impressive numbers for a player in his position.

Urgency grows as Bradley battles injuries

While Conor Bradley has shown promise, his recurring injury concerns have heightened Liverpool’s urgency in securing a dependable first-choice right-back ahead of the 2025/26 season.

With no guarantee of Bradley’s fitness and Trent now set to walk away, the club’s depth in that position is paper-thin.

That is why Frimpong’s readiness to step up and embrace the challenge at Anfield could not have come at a better time.
