In a preseason game in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, Lionel Messi scored a goal and provided two assists as Inter Miami defeated Honduran powerhouse Club Olimpia Deportivo 5-0.
Messi's two assists came in the final three minutes of the game before halftime, while his second goal of the Inter Miami preseason came in the 27th minute.
Messi the hero for Inter Miami
Messi, the current MLS MVP who will assist Inter Miami in starting the MLS season and competing in the Concacaf Champions Cup later this month, put on a classic display.
Messi helped Inter Miami take a 3-0 lead into the second half by finding Federico Redondo and Noah Allen for assists.
Messi's goal was assisted by Luis Suarez, who scored his first preseason goal in the 54th minute after a ball from Benjamin Cremaschi of the U.S. men's national team.

In the 79th minute, Leo Afonso assisted Ryan Sailor in scoring another goal for Inter Miami.
As the team prepares for the upcoming four games, Messi departed as a replacement in the 62nd minute.
Next Friday, Inter Miami's preseason comes to an end in Tampa, Florida, when they play MLS rival Orlando City.
On February 18, Inter Miami will play Sporting Kansas City in the opening leg of their Concacaf Champions Cup first-round clash.
