Lewis Hamilton backs Bukayo Saka, tells English media to stop singling out black players
Bukayo Saka has faced unfair criticism from the English press following England’s loss to Iceland a few days ago.
The Arsenal forward recently returned from an injury that kept him out of Arsenal’s final game of the season and played just 20 minutes in the loss to Iceland.
Saka was quickly singled out by the English media for his performance following the three Lions' defeat in their build-up game to the Euro.
Hamilton slams English media
Hamilton has expressed his support for Saka following harsh criticism for his performance in the match against Iceland before Euro 2024.
Saka, an Arsenal and England star has faced criticism from the English press due to his racial background.
The F1 star has asked the English media to stop singling out black players for attention based solely on their ethnicity and to adopt an objective stance towards the entire team.
In an Instagram story post, he demanded that the English media be held responsible for persistently maligning black footballers.
According to Deni on X, Hamilton said, “We need to hold the English media accountable for systemically vilifying Black players.
“The constant scapegoating of Black players needs to stop. This endemic racial discrimination has no place in football, yet countless news outlets suggest otherwise.”

Hamilton, a fervent opponent of racism, has frequently discussed the scrutiny that Black people experience globally.
Saka will be with the Three Lions in Germany for the 2024 European tournament, which starts in a few days.
