Lazio star forced to play with current girlfriend’s ex in Italy squad

Nicolo Zaniolo and Mattia Zaccagni’s relationship is rather problematic due to the fact that Zaccagni's wife, Chiara Nasti, once dated Zaniolo, a former Roma player.

The two were chosen to start for Italy in their victory over Ukraine, with Aston Villa forward being one of many changes made by the manager after their draw against North Macedonia.

Both players did not celebrate with each other after their recent win against Ukraine as they both celebrated separately.

Chiara Nasti started dating Lazio winger Mattia Zaccagni after she broke up with Nicolò Zaniolo in April 2021.

According to reports from Daily Mail, the new couple have been married for two months and welcomed their son Thiago in November of last year.

The love triangle started in May of last year, after Roma fans made a chant claiming 'Zaccagni's son is Zaniolo, during their Giallorossi's Europa Conference League triumph.

Zaniolo scored the game-winning goal in the match against Feyenoord to help Roma win their first European championship in 60 years.

Zaniolo appeared to enjoy the chant, as the video shows him giggling along with the disparaging lyrics with thousands of supporters welcoming the team home.

Nasti, Zaccagni's wife did not enjoy the shouts and had to disable comments on her social media profiles.

The former Roma forward and Sara Scaperotta did have a kid together, but their relationship ended in 2021.

Both players have since then had a complicated relationship in the team and have not been close.
